Short explanation

Transmission means an electromagnetic wave passes through a material, such as visible light through clear glass or radio waves through parts of a building. Students should identify the wave type, the material and the fact that energy continues beyond the boundary. This is not the same as absorption, where energy is taken into the material, or reflection, where the wave leaves the surface in a new direction. Transparent and translucent examples are useful evidence.
