Description

Adaptation Process

A population of beetles lives in a forest. Some beetles have green shells, and some have brown shells. Birds can see the green beetles more easily and eat them, but the brown beetles are better camouflaged and survive more often. Over many generations, the number of brown beetles increases in the population.

  1. a

Describe how natural selection leads to adaptation in this beetle population.

Aim for approximately 3 distinct marking points.
