Reversible reactions are important in many chemical processes.

Description

Equilibrium in Reversible Reactions

In a closed system, a reversible reaction reaches equilibrium when the rate of the forward reaction equals the rate of the reverse reaction, and the concentrations of reactants and products remain constant.

  1. a

State the condition that must be met for a reversible reaction to reach equilibrium.

Aim for approximately 1 distinct marking point.

Description

Equilibrium Characteristics

At equilibrium, the concentrations of reactants and products do not change, even though the reactions continue to occur.

  1. a

State what remains constant at equilibrium in a reversible reaction.
