In Islam, the concept of Allah is central and foundational to the faith. Muslims believe in One God, Allah, who is transcendent, unique, and all-powerful. This principle of Tawhid (oneness of God) is the most fundamental aspect of Islamic belief, rejecting any form of polytheism or associating partners with God. Allah is described as having numerous attributes, often referred to as the 99 Names of Allah, which reveal His nature. These names highlight His perfection, such as Al-Rahman (The Most Gracious), Al-Rahim (The Most Merciful), Al-Wadud (The Most Loving), Al-Ghaffar (The Forgiver), and Al-Alim (The All-Knowing). Muslims believe Allah is omnipotent (all-powerful), omniscient (all-knowing), and omnipresent (present everywhere, though not in a physical sense). He is eternal, having no beginning or end, and self-sufficient, requiring nothing from His creation while everything depends on Him. Allah is considered just, merciful, and compassionate, and He is the creator and sustainer of the universe, who guides humanity through prophets and revealed scriptures. Understanding the nature of Allah deepens a Muslim's faith, fostering reverence, love, and submission to His will. This belief system shapes a Muslim's worldview, ethics, and daily practices, emphasising devotion and gratitude to the Creator.
