the use of measuring aids, eg templates, jigs and fixtures in ensuring consistency of accuracy and the reduction of possible human error. Determining quantities of materials. Calculation of sides and angles of products. Use of datum points and geometry when setting out design drawings. Use of geometry to create templates for designs.

Use clear diagrams in your answers: Whenever possible, include diagrams to illustrate your points about measuring aids and their applications.

Misunderstanding the role of jigs and fixtures: Remember that jigs guide tools while fixtures hold workpieces in place.
