Method

Method to Investigate Light Intensity Effect on Photosynthesis

1. Place a water plant (e.g., Elodea) in a beaker of water. 2. Position a lamp at a set distance from the plant. 3. Count the number of oxygen bubbles produced in one minute. 4. Repeat the count three times and calculate the average. 5. Move the lamp closer to the plant and repeat steps 3 and 4. 6. Keep temperature and carbon dioxide concentration constant throughout.

  1. a

Identify the independent variable in this investigation.

Aim for approximately 1 distinct marking point.
