A student performs a titration to determine the concentration of hydrochloric acid using sodium hydroxide as the titrant.

Method

Titration Method

1. Fill a burette with sodium hydroxide solution. 2. Measure 25.0 cm³ of hydrochloric acid into a conical flask. 3. Add a few drops of phenolphthalein indicator to the acid. 4. Slowly add sodium hydroxide from the burette to the acid while swirling the flask until the solution turns pink, indicating the endpoint.
