Types and methods of data transmission
Recognize that data is divided into packets for transmission, describe the components of a packet, and explain the packet switching process. A packet consists of a header, payload, and trailer. The header contains the destination address, packet number, and originator's address. Data is segmented into packets that may take different routes, managed by routers. Packets can arrive in a different order, and they are reordered once all packets have been received.
